Hello lovelies 🙂
I hope you all had a brilliant Christmas this year and enjoyed time with your families! We had 3 Christmas’s this year with my in laws, my parents and my lovely Grandma. My Grandad sadly passed away earlier this year so we knew this would be a difficult time for us all, especially her.
I thought I’d write a post to discuss my hopes for 2019. These are not resolutions as I never stick to them but things that I hope will happen or I will achieve over time. Do you make promises or resolutions?
1. Improve my make up skills
I think it’s clear to see that my Insta has become more fashion focussed and I find myself doing less and less make up looks; exactly what my blog and Insta accounts were set up to do.
I want to improve my skills this year which might mean taking lessons with local make up artists.
2. Ensure all my cosmetic and skincare products are entirely cruelty free.
I won’t pretend to be an expert when it comes to products that are cruelty free but I intend to do my research in the hope that I’ll stop buying products tested on animals. For instance, I’m fairly sure Benefit are not cruelty free (though I may be wrong!) so I will probably stop using them. I know on make up to look out for the bunny logo but is it the same for skincare/bath products etc?
3. Take control of my mental health
This has been a 💩, 💩 year and my mental health has taken a beating; at some points I don’t know how I managed to carry on. Luckily for me I have gorgeous and brilliant friends and family to support and care for me. I need to take responsibility this year and learn a few things:
- To say no
- To stand up for myself
- To be vocal when I believe something isn’t right
4. Buy Our First Home
It’s something we have been working on for a good few months but our focus hasn’t been on it recently due to being busy working and Christmas/birthdays. We actually found a house we loved in October but were outbid so it’s something we need to keep looking at to find the perfect home for our future family.
5. Spend more time with family
During parts of this year, I saw an awful lot of my Bradford portion of family but living in Hull as well as two busy work schedules mean that I haven’t seen as much of my family since September time and it doesn’t sit well with me. I won’t allow family time to be missed in 2019, it’s too important. Life is way, way too short.
