Ace of Face Base – Base Essentials

Hey 👋

I wanted to produce a post outlining ‘what’s in my make up bag?’ However, if you saw my make up bag, that’s another story altogether. It’d be a VERY long blog post! As a result, I’ve decided to do it in sections, starting with my essential base make up!

MAC Fix +

This is such a staple for me! I use it before my make up to freshen up my skin and also afterwards to set my make up.

There are a few varieties you can get; I personally have the coconut flavour which smells divine! This has lasted me since the beginning of April and I honestly use it daily. My make up stays flawless for hours and now I wouldn’t be without it! Santa 🎅 knows 😉

Revolution Conceal and Define Foundation in F4 and Real Techniques Expert Face Brush

Usually, I vary my choice of foundation but I’ve been using this one fairly regularly. This has been developed from the success of the Conceal and Define Concealer which, with its thick and creamy consistency, was hailed to be a super dupe for Tarte Shape Tape.

Conversely, this foundation does not have the same fullness in terms of coverage that the concealer does. I would say this is a medium to full cover foundation. One of its redeeming features is the fact that a little goes a long way and it’s nicely fragranced without being too overpowering. When you team this foundation with the Real Techniques Expert Face brush, you can create a seamless face base! I use the expert face brush in circular motions and then stipple on top if it needs further blending. It’s my favourite face brush ever 🙂

You can buy the Revolution product on Beauty Bay with 30% off until 23rd November! Use this link (not affiliated – just like to save you some dollar!)

Revolution Fast Base Concealer in F3

They call it fast base cos it’s super speedy to use! I really like this concealer as it’s got a lovely, smooth consistency and in blends into your skin really fast! This is natural enough to cover my dark circles without making my undereye area really cakey! Just like the Revolution foundations, the shade range is UNREAL and I think this costs around £5, a bargain!

Top tip: use a damp beauty blender to pat it in quickly and flawlessly!

Revolution Pro Finishing Pressed Powder

What an awesome finishing powder! This is a PURE WHITE POWDER but your girl is pale! This powder can be used with a beauty blender to bake and is MUCH less messy than loose baking powder. In the same respect, this smooths your pores when applied with a fluffy powder brush. I do have to really bronze myself up but it leaves my skin looking lovely ❤️

Revolution Ultra Sculpt and Contour in Ultra Fair

This is one of my favourite Revolution products and it’s a grand total of £3.50! Everything about it is great. The ‘bronzer’ gives your skin a lovely glow and shade wise, kind of reminds me of Benefit Hoola!

The highlight in the centre is really subtle which makes it the ideal everyday highlight! It’s a rarity that I hit pan on a product and I have hit pan on all 3 of the above and the picture is from my new repurchase! 🙂

Most impressive to me is the blush! I am not really a blush wearer but I always pop a bit of this cool rose shade on. It has a rose gold kind of tinge to it and reminds me so much of Nars Orgasm Blush.

So those are my essential products for my base! Next time, I’ll be showing you my favourite eye products; of which there are so so so many!

Hit me up with your go to Base products!

Kat x
